My Matthew

So among the exciting things happening at our house this week is Matthew and all his new milestones. Just in the past two and a half weeks he has started full on crawling, started pulling himself up to stand next to furniture, cruising along the furniture, learned how to clap his hands and say yea, says mama, and got his first two teeth! He is one crazy kid! And man does he ever get into things. Micah and I can't help but laugh when we tell him no touch or say Matthew stop, he turns to look at us and give us this big mischievous grin! It is too funny. So anyways here are some pictures of the little squirt.

So far so good...

Potty training is going well! Wednesday has been the best day so far, Monday he had 2 pee accidents and 1 poo accident and on Tues 2 pee and 2 poo accidents but, Marcus had NO accidents today! YEA!!! He is doing such an amazing job, I am so proud! When Micah put him to bed on Wednesday night we closed his gate to his room and a little while later he said "Mommy, I have to go potty!!" so I ran over to let him out and he ran to the bathroom and went #2! In the toilet! Not in his chonies! He is even getting to the point where he is telling me, these are his exact words "you get outta here mommy". he is amazing me with how independent he is becoming through all of this. He puts his seat on the toilet, pulls down his pants and chonies and everything else all by himself! It's just crazy! I pray that this will just keep getting better and better!!

So we are going for it...

in 2 months Marcus will be 3. So this week I have decided to potty train him. I am dead set on this working. No turning back. I am sure that he will do good with it, he doesn't mind going pee or poo in the toilet it is just doing it from now on that we need to work on. Today after we got home from church and I went out and got him some cloth training pants and a seat for the toilet. When I got home I showed him everything and he was really eager to use his new toilet seat. So I took him to the bathroom and he did go pee pee. So I told him that we we not going to use diapers anymore and we put "chonies" on him. he did so well. He only had 2 pee pee accidents which I think is pretty great. By the end of his day he was getting tired and he decided to ask me to put a diaper on him and told me no chonies. I know that his reasoning behind this was because he was tired and he really doesn't like when he has accidents his exact words when he does have an accident, "Oh man!, I pee peed in my chonies, Oh man!" So I really do think that it is time and just in case he wants to give up I hid the rest of his diapers! So tomorrow we hit the ground running again. Please feel free to pray for us this week, hopefully it won't be too much of a challenge for either of us. I am excited to get him out of diapers and only deal with changing and buying diapers for one kid!

more of what went on this past week

So I bought these bath crayons for Marcus. They are really fun and wash off fairly easily. So all week my sister and the kids have been writing all over the walls in the bathroom. For those of you who have not seen my bathroom, the lower half of all four walls are tile which happens to be a prime surface for writing with these crayons. Now I enjoy these crayons for Marcus, he has tons of fun drawing race cars and tracks as well as circles and the number 11 (it happens to be the easiest number to write for him right now) but all week I have been walking into the bathroom to what feels to me like chaos!!! It is a pretty crazy mess to walk into, it feels so wrong to see writing on the walls and then I remember oh yeah it washes off. It was pretty funny to see what had been written for example Adrianne would write something and my sister would add letters to the words to change it into something that totally didn't make sense. And Jenna, bless her heart she still gets stuck on spelling some words and wrote on the wall "I love my ant", So of course my sister wrote above it "I love my bee". I didn't understand that one until this morning which gave me a little chuckle. So I had to take a few pictures of what my bathroom looked like at the end of the week because it was just too great. Enjoy, I have to go scrub the walls clean now:)

It has been a rough year so far....

So as you all know we have had much sickness in our house for almost 2, yes I said TWO months! I beleive it has finally ended, with Jenna being the last one sick poor girl got strep throat. It was very short lived for her, antibiotics have been given and I think the rest of us may be in the clear. So because Jenna was feeling great today and the rest of are well we took a much need family outing!!! We had a great time! We decided to go to Sacramento today, we went to the Zoo, and to get the most awesome burgers at this place I saw on t.v. (The Squeeze Inn, They have the best burgers EVER!!!), to see the Capitol Building and then we also stumbeled on Old Sacramento (a really cool area that I beleive may be original to the begining of Sacramento???). So it was soooo great to get out I feel like a human again! So here are some pictures of our fun fun day!!!
